Button Heart Canvas Wall Art
Button art is one of my favorite ways to upcycle and repurpose. Knowing buttons often end up in the trash, I love using them for this. Over the years, I have gathered a ton of buttons and knew this was just what I needed to use them on.
I love organizing them by color to use in things like this cute little button-heart canvas!
If you like using buttons, you'll love this list of button crafts and projects. There are tons of absolutely gorgeous ways to turn buttons into something beautiful to go on the wall, as a display, centerpiece, or even gift!
You could even add them to this cute heart string art decoration on the edges as an addition to the decor.
Where Can I Find Buttons for This Wall Art?
My favorite place to find buttons is to grab them from thrift shops, garage sales, or simply my own clothing that is torn or no longer able to be worn. You can, of course, also buy them online or at craft stores.
If you find some on sale, grab them for craft purposes like this! This easy button bowl is another great choice for using up any extra buttons you have on hand. Add it next to this cute framed glitter hearts decoration. A great combination on your mantle that makes Valentine's Day decor easy this year!
Can I Frame This Wall Art?
While I use the ribbon to hang this canvas, you can definitely leave that off and, instead, put your canvas in a frame to hang on the wall. It would also be a great addition to a shadowbox frame.
There are tons of ways you can hang this canvas piece, and the button heart would work great on canvas, wood, cardboard, or even in a regular picture frame!

Supplies Needed
- Red buttons in various shades and sizes
- Valentine's Day ribbon
- Red glitter or small beads
- Blank canvas print
- Craft glue or hot glue gun and glue
How to Make a Button Heart Canvas
Using a pencil, outline a heart shape on your canvas.
Now, you will outline the heart with buttons, gluing them in place.
Once you have the heart outline, you will fill in the center with buttons, gluing them in place and varying the sizes and shades until the heart is complete.
In various areas where canvas can be seen on the inside of the heart, add a bit of extra glue and sprinkle on glitter or small beads.
Cut and tie a ribbon for hanging, then attach it with glue and an additional button in the center.
Display as desired for Valentine's Day.
