What Paper Should I Use?
I think this is one craft you could make using any paper you prefer. Construction paper is a great option since it's a bit sturdier, but simple copy paper, crafting paper, or patterned paper are all great choices.
I love the idea of grabbing different Valentine's Day patterns of craft paper and making your paper heart totally unique. Think about using red, pink, white, purple, silver, blue, or papers with roses, flowers, words, and more! So many great possibilities with this idea!
Can I Turn This Into a Paper Heart Garland?
I've made a simple burlap heart garland recently, but why not turn this idea into a banner or garland? If you made your paper heart people smaller, you could easily attach them to a long ribbon or piece of twine. Then, hang it from your mantle as a beautiful Valentine's Day bunting! Such a cute idea for adding a bit more fun to your home around a special holiday.

How to Make Paper Hearts
Begin by tracing the heart shapes onto your choice of craft paper. You will need 1 large and 4 small hearts.
Cut out the hearts and set them aside.
Now, you will fold white paper into a fan shape as shown.
Once it has been folded, cut it into 4 small pieces about 1" wide.
Unfold these and trim them so 2 are longer, making legs, with the shorter 2 making the arms.
Now, you will attach the googly eyes onto the largest heart, and draw a simple smile with your black marker.
Next, you will attach the arms and legs with glue.
The final step is to attach the smaller hearts to the ends of the arms and legs to act as hands and feet.
Display or hang as desired.
