How to Turn a Wine Glass Into a Candle Holder
What’s cool about turning a wine glass into a candle holder is that you can use any type of wine glass you want. Each shape will give you a different final look.
You’ll also be amazed at how few steps are needed to transform a wine glass into a candle holder. In fact, by the time you’ve gathered your supplies, you’re really only three steps away from finishing the project!
Supplies You Need to Make a Rustic Candle Holder from a Wine Glass
Let’s go over all the materials that you’ll need to complete this project. As you already know, you’ll need a wine glass. I recommend just going with a cheap wine glass of any variety you want. Along with that, you are going to need some twine and some faux flowers. You’ll also require a candle. You’ll want to go with one with a large enough circumference that it can sit unsupported on top of the candle holder without any risk of tipping over.
The tools you will need to make a rustic candle holder with these supplies include a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun.
How to Use Your Rustic Candle Holder
After you create your rustic candle holder, you can display it anywhere around your home, or you can use it to enhance a dinner table. A rustic candle holder can make a nice gift for someone who enjoys the DIY homespun look as well.

- Begin by putting hot glue around the rim of a wine glass and gluing twine around it. Continue to glue, wrapping the twine around and around the glass, working your way down toward the stem. For example, you could tie a bow around it out of burlap or rustic ribbon of any sort. You might come up with other ideas if you get imaginative. See how much you can personalize your candle holder.
- Our easy rustic craft project is already almost complete. Pretty amazing considering that it feels like we just got started, right? The final step is to use twine to tie a bow around your candle. Then, simply set the wine glass upside-down, and place the candle on top of it to display.
