Spider Craft Lollipop
There is nothing as much fun as seeing kids get excited about a holiday. I love Halloween because it gives everyone a chance to act like a kid again with costumes, fun candy, and silly parties.
This super cute spider lollipop is a perfect Halloween treat idea. It transforms an ordinary sucker into a special treat. Even if your kids don't typically like suckers, they will grab this fast! Of course, it also helps to make spiders less scary when you can associate them with a yummy and fun treat!
These chocolate covered spider treats are another great idea that your kids can enjoy in their lunchbox during the Halloween season!
What Lollipops Should I Use for this Spider Craft Treat?
For this craft, I used Tootsie Pops. They are just the right size and always available inexpensively. You could also use Charms suckers or Blow Pops for this treat. The best suckers are larger ones that are rounder like these to make a round spider body. You can pick up flat suckers and make it work, but it is a bit harder to secure all of the legs to a smaller lollipop.
Can these Spider Lollipops be Used as a Decoration?
Yes! I love decorating for Halloween, and these are super cute ideas for decorations. Just tie or glue a string to them and hang them from the ceiling or on a Halloween tree.
Fun Ways to Give these to Kids at Halloween
Silly and spooky spiders are fun around Halloween. There are so many unique ways to turn them into a special treat for your kids (or yourself). I love using things like this to inexpensively add a unique holiday theme to our day! Below are some great ideas for how you can use these this Halloween.
- Add to a Halloween tree like mentioned above
- Drop into your kid's lunchbox with a note telling them how much you love them
- Display on a table at your Halloween party next to your homemade Halloween candies
- Put them in a clear cellophane bag filled with popcorn so it looks like a spider got into their treat
- Attach them to your cups filled with Halloween party punch as a unique handle or way to decorate plain red cups

Supplies for Spider Lollipops
- Lollipops
- Black tissue paper
- Black pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun and glue
How to Make a Spider Craft Halloween Lollipop
Begin by gathering all of your supplies together so they are in easy reach.
I prefer to make one tissue paper template to cover the lollipop, then use it to cut out one for each sucker I am planning to create.
Once you have the tissue paper in the size you prefer, wrap it around the lollipop and twist the paper right below the candy at the top of the stick on the lollipop.
Next, you will cut your black pipe cleaners into legs. For each spider, I will use 2 pipe cleaners. Each one will be cut in half, and then each half will wrap around the lollipop stick just below the area wrapped in tissue paper. You will fold each piece over itself to secure and shape as legs on each side. You want there to be 8 legs showing on the spider.
The final step is gluing your googly eyes to the middle of the pipe cleaner legs to create a face.
