I do love a good recipe for winter. I mean, something that really keeps you warm and cozy, like this Hungarian beef goulash. We recently had a cold snap here in the South, and I thought I would try a dish that had a nice comfort food feel to it.
This one does, and it’s pretty easy to whip up. Plus, it’s absolutely delicious. My family loved it, and when I say they loved it, I mean that we didn’t have any leftovers for lunch the next day. They ate every single bit of it the night I cooked it.
There is something to be said for comfort food on a cold night. I normally turn to homemade soups for those snowy evenings, but I really think that this goulash is great for chasing away those winter blues. It’s wholesome and tasty and has things like beef, onion, cloves, tomatoes, and sour cream – what’s not to love?
Of course, if you do prefer something a bit more soup-y for your winter evenings, this white bean with crispy bacon soup is always a good choice. If you prefer something other than soup however, I highly suggest that you try this Hungarian goulash – your entire family is going to love it.
Now, I like meals that I can cook without actually standing in the kitchen all night – unless it’s a holiday meal, that is. This one preps in about 15 minutes, and then you bake it for about four hours, so you have so much time to do other things.
This is a great meal for when you just have so much housework that you don’t have time to stand in the kitchen. You just put it in the oven and go about your business until it’s done. So, you’ll have time to whip up these Oreo cheesecake bites for dessert.
