I get so many emails from readers who are struggling to figure out how to fit all their stuff into a small living space. Maybe you live in a cramped apartment or perhaps you are in a tiny house. Either way, trying to figure out where to store everything in the bedroom can be a real pain, especially if you still want some free floor space.
We’ve shared some posts in the past with some ideas for getting around this, one of the best being a genius idea to build an IKEA-style platform bed out of kitchen cabinets. We’ve also compiled lists of bed frame projects. But not every bed frame project we’ve found has presented an answer to the problem of storage.
I’ve just discovered a video which I think you’re going to love. It teaches you how you can build a king-sized bed frame with a ton of storage space underneath:
This bed frame is just beautiful! And assembling it is a pretty straightforward process, especially if you already have some experience with carpentry. You start by putting the frame itself together, and then you add the drawers. You then add any sort of paint or finish you want to complete the look, and then you add the mattress and pillows.
Seriously, just check out those huge drawers! You could fit so much under this bed. This would free up a ton of floor space in a small bedroom.
Watching the video, it should be a pretty simple matter to build one of these yourself. You can download the free plans here and view the detailed step by step instructions here. Enjoy freeing up all that space in your bedroom!

I love this but would like even more to have some kind of farm that could be added on over a queen size from so that drawers hang over the sides off of a large piece of wood where the mattress would go, so that the whole queen bed extends out on the sides to the size of a king bed and then additional drawers underneath. That way a queen bed could be used as a king and there would be drawers on the sides and under similar to this. Awesome idea, thanks for the video.

Do you have measurement on how to make this for a king size bed and not a California king
