Our first home was tiny, which was fine at the time since my husband and I were just starting our life journey together. But within a couple of years, we had our first baby, and a few years later, we had another little one on the way. We took the first opportunity we found to move into a bigger house. And we love it—except for all the empty wall space!
I also love art projects, so I look at every empty wall as an opportunity. Lately I’ve been looking around everywhere for wall art ideas. The other week I found a cool idea for turning a shower curtain into wall art. I’ve also found dozens of other fun ideas which I’ve been thinking about—you can check out the full list here.
But I just found the one I know I’m going to use for a particularly large barren spot in our living room.

How cool is that? Dozens of little butterflies in a beautiful color gradient! You’d think this would be really hard and time-consuming, but it isn’t—you just need a craft tool which can punch the same shape over and over again. This project is awesome because you can use as many or as few butterflies as you want. You don’t have to use butterflies either—you can pick any shape you want and use any colors you like. You can also create any design you want on your wall—I am thinking of doing something abstract and whimsical.
There really is no limit to what you can do with this idea—it is a wellspring for other creative ideas! I can’t wait to try it. I hope you have as much fun with it as I do! If your resources are limited but want to buy one you can buy one from RonaldNoy Etsy User.
