Plastic straws aren’t something I typically use. Usually I just drink my beverages right out of the glass. But at some point a few years ago I apparently felt a need to buy a whole huge box of them. Maybe it was for a party or for my kids. I really don’t have a clue, because I haven’t made any use of them ever since.
I enjoy finding weird uses for household items, like hangers and rubber bands. I now know a ton of cool stuff you can do with plastic straws. Just check out these fabulous videos from JapaneseLifehacker:

Some of these are ways you can use straws to accomplish something unexpected—like the hack where he sticks a straw into a stubborn food item to get it out of a container it’s stuck in. Others are hacks which make straws easier to use for drinking. I just love the one where he twists the tab on his soda can to stop the straw from popping out of the top and falling out! It seems so simple now that I’ve seen it, but I never would have thought of it on my own.
After watching both of these awesome videos, I finally know what to do with that huge box of plastic straws which is taking up room in my drawer!
