I’ve never felt all that dependent on my makeup, but that certainly doesn’t mean that I don’t love experimenting with it. Since I enjoy playing around with different colors, looks and styles, I seem to have a ton of products and tools, some of which I use every day, and others that collect dust. This means that there’s a lot to organize, and my ridiculously unhelpful and ineffective toss-it-all-in-the-drawer technique just isn’t doing the trick anymore. So it’s high time that I—and all you other clutter-loving ladies out there—to get organized! Thankfully, it’s a lot easier than you may have thought.
Candler Jar Pyramid
When it comes to glass candle jars like these (or other similar jars/tumblers), most people would think to stand them on the counter so that your products and tools stand upright. This clever DIYer thought to turn them on their sides and glue them together in a pyramid shape so that, not only does it look a lot more interesting, but you use up less counter space.

Organized Drawer
I hate to admit that if I have a free drawer, I’m the type of person who will simply toss everything in there and cause unmanageable cluttered chaos. A clever way to combat this, though, is to compartmentalize the drawer with little containers so that there’s no chance of it getting messy like that ever again.

Magnetic Board
I’ve seen this idea before, and I will maintain that it is one of the smartest solutions out there because, apart from looking really cool, you’re making use of that otherwise unused wall space, thus leaving your counters and drawers free to be filled with all your other stuff.

Mason Jar Wall-Mount
I don’t think that I’ll ever fall out of love with Mason jars—or glass jars of any kind, for that matter—because they’re just so darn handy and useful! This rustic chic, wall-mounted organizer is the perfect way to hold all your brushes, mascaras, eyeliners etc. in a stylish manner.

Sushi Mat Rollup
Some people really just have that knack to look at something and immediately envision it with a totally different purpose. I doubt that I would ever think to use a sushi mat as a brush organizer, but just look how perfect it is! It can easily be rolled up and tucked away, taking up minimal space.

Ohuhu Cosmetic Organizer
This is a great little organizer! It has room for everything. The drawers are perfect for Q-tips and cotton balls, as well as blushes and eye shadows, and the individual sections hold lipsticks, pencils, and even my concealer stick. There is literally room for every cosmetic in my drawer and then some! It makes finding mascara and smaller pencils a breeze, as opposed to sifting through a drawer.

Beauty Box
This makeup holder is actually made from a block of floral foam that’s just been glammed up a little – isn’t it clever? Thanks to the wonderful texture of the foam, you can simply push the products in and leave a perfect impression for reuse.

Glass Top Vanity
If you want to take your makeup organization very seriously, then you can actually build your own vanity that’s jam-packed with useful storage space, but also lets you see exactly what is what. This is a true stroke of genius, and it actually isn’t all that difficult to construct.

Hanging Organizer
I’ve considered shop-bought hanging organizers but they just never seem to be the right fit. If you follow this guide and make your own, you can add as many pockets as you want and make them the perfect size for your specific makeup needs. Absolute genius!

Plastic Bottles
Next time that you come across colorful plastic bottles, consider how you could cut them in half and use the bottom parts for simple and pretty storage. The process itself is a quick and easy one, so you’ll be organized in no time!

Tiered Makeup Stand
This DIY project is really fun because there are so many different ways to personalize it: you can use any type of plates/dishes/trays, you can use a variety of items for the middle part (e.g. tin can, glass, candlestick), you can choose your number of tiers, you can make it spin, and you can even paint it in funky colors!

Simple Vases
When it comes to organizing your brushes and things, you don’t necessarily need anything too complicated; it can be as easy as finding a couple of pretty glass vases (a set or you can mix and match) that you can leave plain or decorate a bit.

Mobile Cart
A movable stand with wheels is a great idea if you tend to move around a bit or simply want to wheel it out of your way when you’re done. You can even add a container on the side to hold your hair dryer or curling iron so that you really have everything you need in one clever solution.

Wooden Brush Stand
I’ve always loved the idea of using nature’s beauty and incorporating it into my home, so this wooden stand is definitely something I’d consider. All you need is a piece of log or wooden block and a drill so that all your brushes can stand upright. So simple, yet so effective!

Roll-Up Brush Holder
A fabric brush holder like this is a brilliant way to save on space, and it also makes it easy to travel with your little kit. You don’t have to be a sewing wizard to get this done, thankfully, so really anyone would be perfectly capable of making this.

Palette Rack
Now this is what I call smart thinking – someone had the brilliant idea to use a simple dish rack as an eyeshadow makeup rack. The slots make it so easy to slip your palettes in there, and you’ll still be able to see everything clearly.

Ice Tube Tray
I have to admit, I’ve never seen an ice tube tray before, but, thankfully, they’re quite easy to find online. You don’t really have to do much to it since you can simply store your eyeliners, lipsticks and things in each individual slot – you may just want to do a bit of painting, decorating and/or labelling to make it look pretty.

Copper Tubes
Sometimes you need to venture a little further in order to find the perfect materials… like the plumbing section of a hardware store, for example. I love the simplistic elegance of this little lipstick holder, and you’ll find that the tubes are just the perfect width.

Dinnerware Stand
I would never have thought to put together plates, bowls, and teacups to make a makeup stand, but just look how gorgeous it looks! You’re free to mix and match and you please, and even do some painting if you want a specific color. There are actually a number of interesting ways that you can upcycle teacups.

Plastic Drawers
These plastic drawers are both inexpensive and really easy to come by, but I hate to say that they’re pretty darn ugly. So, all that really stands between you and tidy, ordered makeup is a simple job of paint and decoration.

Nail Polish Rack
When it comes to nail polish, it’s very important that you’re able to see the colors on display so that you can just grab what you need without too much annoying digging, so building you own rack seems to be the most effective option. It’s always good to get those hands a little dirty so that you can manicure them later.

Love this!!! SO many i can use! I love the mason jars!
Marina
I love the wooden stump and mason jar DIY but I would seriously have to line the entire wall with those coz I have too much makeup. Right now I just have one drawer with like 8 makeup bags filled with stuff, all packed together. At least each bag has its own category of contents like eyeliner, blush & bronzer, eyeshadow is in a few categories... 🙂
