Fold the square in half horizontally.
Fold the paper down to a triangle and cut across the bottom to form a square.
Fold those triangles in toward the center also, then trim off the bottom to make it flat.
Fold each side of the paper down to the middle to make two triangles (one per side).
Fold back and forth until you have 8 "sides" to the tree that are folded and creased.
Cut slits along each edge, then fold those down to create the branches of the tree.
Glue on beads and a star to create the Christmas tree look.
