As much as I love flowers, I much prefer something that will last forever. This fun Valentine's Day heart flower bouquet is a great idea to make and gift!
All you need is a bit of colorful glitter paper, some twigs, glue, and you can create a gorgeous bouquet that is perfect for gifting but lasts forever!
Heart Flower Bouquet
I am a sucker for flowers. Adding pretty colors, fragrant smells, and just the joy to every room is part of why I adore them. That said, I am a very practical soul, and I realize that cutting flowers or buying them on a regular basis can get pretty pricey.
Especially since flowers die so quickly once cut from their plant. My solution? I love making DIY flowers to place throughout my home!
This idea for a heart flower bouquet is perfect for special anniversaries, or of course, Valentine's Day. I love that it's affordable, but also that it will last forever. Put this in the corner of my office shelf and I'll see it every day instead of just for a few days! I love that!
I just made these decorative paper flowers, and love them, but really think that this glitter heart is best for Valentine's Day gifting. If you have extra fabric around, you could also make these beautiful fabric flowers to add to your bouquets.
Tips for Displaying the Bouquet
As shown in the pictures here, I simply tucked the branches into a simple white vase and sat on a counter. It's definitely gorgeous just like this, but you can dress it up a lot if you wish. In fact, if I was gifting this to someone special, I would probably add a bit more to make it flashier.
- Add more to the vase so it makes a fuller bouquet.
- Mix in live or fake greenery like babies breath, eucalyptus, ivy, or other pieces to make it more natural.
- Add a large colorful bow to the front of the vase.
- Mix in pom pom flowers or paper flowers to the bouquet for variety.
Now, along with adding things to the vase, you can definitely try out different vessels to add your bouquet into for sharing. I almost always have simple vases in my cupboards, but sometimes a little different idea works just as wonderfully.
- Stick the stems into floral foam inside a small teapot or kettle.
- Add these to a real live bouquet or a potted plant to perk up the look and make it special for Valentine's Day.
- Wrap the stems in tissue paper and tie with a pretty bow.
- Add this printable handmade with love tag to the bow.
The point is that you should have fun when making a heart flower bouquet. They are beautiful, easy, and a great gift!

How to Make a Heart Flower Bouquet
Begin by gathering twigs and branches then trimming them to fit your vase. I recommend trimming with garden shears into a few different lengths so the branches aren't all identical height.
Now, you will use a pen or pencil and trace a heart shape on the back of your glitter paper. Do this in a few sizes on different colored papers.
Cut out your hearts until you have as many as you prefer for your bouquet. Remember, you will want a few hearts per branch.
Now, peel the sticky back off of your foam paper and attach the hearts to the branches.
You can also use hot glue if your paper doesn't have sticky backs.
Arrange the hearts on branches with a variety of colors on each branch as shown below.
Display in a vase as desired.
Turn branches and glitter paper into a gorgeous Valentine's Day Glitter Heart Flower Bouquet in a matter of minutes! An easy kid-friendly Valentine's Day craft idea! Have fun making bouquets in a variety of colors like this purple-themed bouquet, or a single shade like red or pink to match the colors to your decor or the person you are gifting it to.
