What is the Best Way to Hang a Christmas Wreath?
There are many methods of hanging a wreath. Some of them depend upon the location you choose to place the wreath. I love hanging wreaths on doors, but they are also great hanging on the wall around your home as an added wall art piece.
If hanging over your door, you can choose one of the more popular methods. A simple nail or hook can be added to the door for you to slip the wreath over.
The other option is to use a wreath hanger. This is typically a plastic or metal hook that has a hook on both ends. One goes over the top of the door, and one hangs down for you to place the wreath over.
The other popular option is to use a Command hook that is easy to attach and remove after use, but those do have more weight limitations to be aware of when hanging heavier wreaths.

- Red fabric
- Rustic ribbon
- Christmas picks and ornaments
- Holiday greenery and branches

How to Make a DIY Christmas Wreath
For this wreath, you will need two circles. I used a hula hoop for the larger one and a wooden embroidery hoop for the second circle. You can also use styrofoam or wire hoops if needed.
Cover the largest hoop with red fabric as shown. I cut the fabric into strips and glued one end to the wreath and then wrap around gluing every few inches until the entire hoop is covered.
You can also add in a few strips of rustic ribbon or burlap to add a striped look to the wreath.
Now, you attach the smaller circle on the backside of the bigger hoop so you can see it on the inside of the wreath.
Use some holiday branches, picks, greenery, and ribbons to decorate the wreath as you prefer.
Adding a bow or ribbon in a holiday theme will pull the look together for Christmas.
