This fall off the bone oven baked ribs recipe is one of my favorite ways to serve up a great cut of pork ribs. The combination of a lovely homemade dry rub seasoning and your favorite barbecue sauce make this an easy but flavorful choice. The meat falls off the bones, and the flavors are rich and smoky with a hint of spice.

Oven-Baked Ribs
Ribs typically take hours on a smoker to result in this fall off the bone tenderness. For years, I have tried to make ribs that would give the flavor I love but still offer convenience. I finally discovered that if I cook them slowly on low heat in my oven, I can get the same tenderness I love from traditional smoked ribs.

Are Pork Ribs Better Than Beef Ribs?
This really is a choice left up to the individual. My preference is pork ribs due to how affordable they are, and the good marbling that offers tons of extra flavor. That said, many people prefer not to eat pork products. If this is the case, you can definitely try this with beef ribs instead.
Beef versus pork will give you slightly different flavor profiles, but they are both totally satisfying options. Try both to see which one you prefer!
Can I Use a Store-Bought Dry Rub?
Of course, you can! Store-bought dry rub bbq seasonings are often delicious. If you have one you already know you prefer, then feel free to pick it up and use it for this recipe.
I love my personal recipe below, but of course, you might prefer another option you've already tried. As with any seasoning blend, adjust to your personal taste preferences for the best results.
What Do I Serve with BBQ Ribs?
Alongside these ribs, you need stellar side dishes. Some of my favorites are classics like potato salad and pasta salad, but you also need some variety sometimes. A loaded cauliflower bake is a favorite healthier substitute for potatoes. Another choice is this bacon-wrapped Brussel sprouts recipe.
A lighter option would be this corn and black bean quinoa recipe, but my favorite is this recipe for roasted parmesan asparagus spears.
