A few weeks ago, I found an awesome sale on bags of concrete. I mean, this was dirt cheap at a yard sale I stopped at, so I had to buy it.

You just never know when you’ll need several bags of concrete, right?

So far I haven’t needed it for anything around the house, which made me wonder just what I was going to do with all of that concrete.

So, I started looking for projects and what I found are 40 amazing ways that you can turn concrete into beautiful DIY projects.

1. $5 Concrete Stool

This concrete stool would be perfect for a workshop and you can make it for around $5. It’s as easy to make as it is cheap.

You pour the concrete into a five gallon bucket and add your legs that you can cut from a single dowel. When the concrete has dried, just pull out your new stool. You don’t even need that much concrete so you can actually make several of these stools from one bag.

2. DIY Concrete Bedside Lamp

This little lamp is adorable and so easy to make. You’ll have to build a small box – whatever size you want your lamp – out of wood and then use that box to mold your concrete.

Once the concrete has set, you just remove the box and then add your lamp electrical pieces which you can reuse from an old lamp or buy as a kit. It’s an easy and really unique lamp that will instantly add charm to any room.

3. Easy DIY Concrete Magnets

I love kitchen magnets – my fridge is always covered in them. I also love the idea of making my own magnets out of concrete. This project is so easy and so customizable.

You just mold your magnets in a silicone ice cube tray – and these come in so many fun shapes and sizes – and then add a magnet. You can paint them as well if you want. This is a good project for kids during the winter months when it’s just too cold to get outside.

4. Elegant Concrete Cake Stand

Make your own cake stand out of that concrete that you have left over from other projects. This one doesn’t take much concrete and you can mold it from items in your kitchen.

Use a cake pan itself as the top and then disposable plastic glasses to create the stem. This one is so easy and it makes such a lovely – and very durable – cake stand to display all of your baking.

5. DIY Concrete Bowl

Make a lovely – and not to mention very heavy – bowl from that concrete and a few other supplies. One bag of concrete will make so many things and you can create several of these lovely bowls from a bag.

You mold the bowl in the bottom of a flexible rubber bucket – which you can pick up at Walmart for around $5. You could create taller or shallower bowls, depending on your preference.

6. Easy Concrete Coasters

These geometrical styled coasters are great and they take very little concrete to make. These would be wonderful gifts and they’re so easy.

You mold the coasters in small boxes, whatever size you want, and decorate with acrylic paint. You could paint the entire coaster or just the insert – which is also really easy to make.

7. Gorgeous DIY Concrete Bracelets

If you love jewelry – or need a gift idea for someone else who does – these concrete bracelets are perfect. They’re made in bangle style and they are actually not too heavy considering they’re made of concrete.

You just mold the bracelet and then when it dries, paint it however you want with acrylic paints. This is the perfect gift idea for anyone who likes quirky and otherwise unusual jewelry.

8. Easy DIY Crayon Organizer

This concrete crayon organizer is great and it’s very versatile. You could use it as a pencil holder, utensil holder in the kitchen or even a planter if you don’t need something for crayons.

It’s a pretty easy project to make and if you’re making it for crayons, the kids will love helping. Once it’s dried, just paint it however you want.

9. Relaxing DIY Concrete Fire Bowls

There’s nothing better than relaxing on your porch or deck and having a small fire, right? These concrete fire bowls are perfect for that and since they’re DIY fire bowls, they’re much cheaper than anything you can buy in a home improvement or department store.

Plus, they’re tabletop sized so you can make as many as you need and you can get more than one from a single bag of concrete.

10. DIY Cement Monogram Letters

Really spruce up your front lawn with these concrete monogram letters. These are great for just sitting on the porch or you could do numbers to make a more decorative house number.

They’re really easy and can be painted anyway you want to decorate them. Plus, you can make your own molds from cardboard so the only actual cost in making these comes from the concrete.

11. Easy DIY Concrete Countertops

Did you know that you can make your own concrete countertops? Well, you can and it looks really easy to do. Concrete countertops are all the rage but they’re also pretty expensive.

Of course, we do things the DIY way, so you’ll save a fortune doing these yourself. They’re perfect for bathrooms or you could add them to your kitchen counters, as well.

12. Decorative Deer Head Concrete Ornament

This concrete deer head is perfect if you want to add that sort of decorative element to your home, but you really don’t want an actual deer head hanging there. It doubles as a planter so you can add your favorite greenery or succulents and have a lovely display on the wall.

I found this one on Etsy, which seems a bit easier than molding it yourself. You can pick it up for less than $25 and they have other animals available.

13. DIY Concrete Box Clock

This little clock would be perfect for the bedroom or den. It’s a block shaped clock that is made out of concrete. It’s so unique! You start by building the form out of wooden blocks – note that you can build the mold whatever shape or size you want.

Then pour your concrete and when it dries, assemble your clock kit. This is a great upcycle project for a broken clock, assuming that the clock mechanisms are working.

14. Easy Handmade Concrete Garden Balls

I love decorating in the garden with spheres and mirror balls. I think these concrete balls would fit in nicely as well. They’re molded in a round glass light cover.

Note that to remove the concrete balls, you will have to smash the light cover, so I recommend finding these at yard sales or anywhere they’re cheap. You should be able to get them for just a couple dollars each if you visit your local Goodwill or other thrift stores.

15. Industrial Style Desk With Concrete Desktop

This industrial styled desk has a concrete top and wooden legs and it’s much easier to build than you may think. You do have to create a mold for the desktop so measuring is essential.

Plus, you’ll need to build the actual desk complete with legs to hold the top. When it’s finished, this is a lovely desk and it would be perfect for a teen’s room or any home office.

16. Cement Easter Eggs

It’s nowhere close to Easter but that doesn’t mean that you can’t plan ahead. And, I strongly recommend making these adorable little concrete Easter eggs for your Easter decorating.

These are so easy to make and you can mold them in plastic eggs. Once they’re dry, just paint and decorate them however you want and you have lovely, not to mention very durable, Easter decorations for years to come.

17. DIY Gold Dipped Concrete Earrings

These little earrings are as elegant as they are easy to make and they’re made from concrete! You can actually purchase those little concrete gemstone shapes but you can just as easily mold them yourself from any number of things.

Create your mold from cardboard and when the concrete has set and dried, dip the ends in gold metallic paint and then glue on your earring back.

18. Concrete Gradient Tealight Holders

These little tealight candle holders are so gorgeous and they’re not terribly complicated to make. The concrete has an Ombre look and darkens a bit with each layer. You create the four smaller layers and then stack them to hold your tealight candle. You could also do this with a smaller candle hole and make it perfect for taper candles or larger ones, as well.

19. Hand Blown Concrete Garden Bowls

These hand blown concrete bowls are perfect for adding a bit of ambiance to your garden area. Once they’re finished, you top them off with a tealight candle, so they add just the right amount of glow for outdoor entertaining. You can mold them in round light domes and leave the top un-poured so that you have a hole for the candles.

These would also be great painted orange or black for Halloween decorating.

20. DIY Concrete Hand Planters

I know you’ve seen these concrete hand planters around – they’re pretty expensive in stores – and now you can make them yourself! These are so easy to do and they’re absolutely gorgeous when they’re finished.

You simply fill plastic gloves with concrete to mold them and then tear away the gloves when the concrete is dry. These are great for holding your succulents or other delicate plants in your garden.

21. Concrete Paver House Numbers

You don’t have to head out to Lowe’s or Home Depot to buy patio pavers that have your house numbers in them. You can easily make them yourself and save money at the same time. You can make them in a cardboard tube or build a cardboard mold that’s square if you prefer that shape. The numbers are housed in the concrete before it dries, so they’ll always stay perfectly in place.

22. Concrete And Lace Votive Holders

These little lace and concrete votive candle holders are so easy to make and you probably have everything you need to make them already on hand.

You’ll need just a small bag of concrete – which will make several – as well as paper cups and lace and a few other supplies. You mold them in the paper cups, using the lace to create a beautiful imprint.

23. DIY Concrete And Lace Bookends

These lace wrapped concrete bookends are so gorgeous and very easy to make. You basically just create the bookends by molding concrete using any sort of mold that you want and then you just attach the lace.

An empty cardboard milk or juice carton works beautifully to create the bookends and then all you have to do is add your lace.

25. Concrete Light Bulb Wall Hook

Before you throw out that blown light bulb, use it to create this amazing wall hook. This is such a unique project and it’s pretty easy, too. You use the light bulb to mold your concrete and then just break it away when the concrete dries. You were going to throw that bulb out anyway, right?

These would be great for coat hangers or in kids’ rooms to keep their backpacks off the floor.

26. DIY Stackable Metallic Concrete Bowl Set

You can create an entire set of concrete bowls, complete with metallic insides, and you won’ even use up an entire bag of concrete. These bowls are great and would make wonderful gifts for an upcoming housewarming or wedding.

You can use them as jewelry catchers, fruit bowls, or just anything you want. The metallic paint on the insides gives them a very elegant look.

27. Concrete Monogram Bookends

Here’s another really great way to turn a bag of concrete into adorable bookends. And, these are monogram bookends so they’re the perfect gift if you want something special and personalized.

You can create the molds from cardboard and then once the concrete sets, paint or decorate the letters however you want, or just leave them as they are. Make a set for yourself and another for a friend!

28. Gorgeous DIY Concrete Necklace

Quick drying cement can quickly be turned into this beautiful concrete necklace. The necklace is really lightweight and if you use quick drying cement, it won’t take long at all to finish.

You mold it in any silicone mold that you want – or you could make any number of molds from plastic or cardboard if you can’t find the right design in a pre-made mold. Then when it’s set, just paint and decorate and add your chain.

29. Easy DIY Concrete Brooches

If you love making your own holiday gifts, and you like starting really early, here’s a wonderful project for you.

These concrete brooches are really easy to make and make the perfect gift for any of the ladies on your holiday gift list. You mold them in cardboard salt and pepper shakers, yogurt containers, or other similar items. Once the cement has dried, you just paint and decorate them and glue on your pin.

30. Hexagonal DIY Concrete Paperweight

You can easily make this DIY concrete paperweight with a hexagonal mold, or mold it in any shape that you want. The gist of the project is to simply pour and mold your concrete and then when it’s finished, decorate with sharpies, acrylic paints, or whatever you choose. The hexagonal shape is great for a paperweight, but you could honestly do whatever shape or size you prefer.

31. DIY Large Concrete Garden Planter

I love those large concrete planters at Lowe’s but they’re so expensive, like at least $100 or more. But, you can easily make your own for less than $10. That’s quite a savings!

You just build the mold that you want out of wood and then pour your concrete in, making sure that you also build a smaller mold to create the opening. That’s it and you’ll save yourself $100 easy!

32. Upcycled Plastic Bottle Pendant Lamp

Make these pendant lamps that can hang on your porch with an empty 2-liter plastic bottle. You could create smaller ones for accent lights with smaller soda or water bottles, as well.

Just cut the bottle down to size and then use it to create your mold. You’ll need a smaller bottle to make the opening. Then add your light fixture kit and you’ve got beautiful new lamps to hang anywhere you want some extra lighting.

33. DIY Concrete Picture Frame

These picture frames are so easy to make and you create the mold from an empty cereal box – or any box that’s about the same size. Once you have your mold created, just pour your concrete and wait for it to dry.

You can glue a picture hanging hook on the back or add twine, ribbon or burlap to hang. Plus, you can do these in any size you need just by adjusting your homemade mold!

34. DIY Concrete Garden Edging

You can certainly head out to your local home and garden store and buy concrete edging, but making it yourself is so much more rewarding – not to mention so much cheaper.

This is pretty simple, too considering the project. You have to dig out the section that you want to border and then use hardwood or something similar to create the inground mold. You can even create sections if you want the brick look and these can be painted any color that you want.

35. Gold Leaf Cement Pots

These gold leaf pots are perfect for housing your succulents or other indoor or outdoor flowers. These would look great just sitting in your flower garden or you could use them to create a gorgeous centerpiece for the dining room table.

They’re concrete so they’re really sturdy and durable and the gold leaf design gives them a really nice elegant look.

36. Elegant DIY Concrete Ring Bowl

We’ve seen a few bowls made out of concrete but this tiny little ring bowl may just be my favorite. Not only is it really useful for keeping rings and other jewelry organized, it’s really easy to make and has such a nice elegant touch to it.

You can mold it in a small bowl or create a mold from cardboard in any shape that you want. Once the concrete dries, add gold metallic or any other color to give it that elegant look you want.

37. DIY Gold Handled Concrete Serving Tray

This concrete serving tray is perfect for outdoor entertaining and the gold handles are a nice decorative touch. You mold it in a rectangular plastic container and the gold handles are actually white plastic handles that you paint with gold spray paint.

It looks much more expensive than it is and it’s perfect for displaying that tea set or any plants that you want to showcase. It’s pretty heavy, though so I don’t recommend actually serving on it.

38. Concrete iPad Stand

This iPad stand is made of concrete and has a nice statuesque look to it. It’s a pretty easy project to make and is perfect for housing your iPad and holding it up – you know, for when you’re using it to look up recipes and such.

You can mold it in a tall plastic popcorn bowl – which you can get at the Dollar Tree for $1(They come four in a pack). It’s an easy project that only has a few steps and creates a lovely stand to keep your iPad safe and secure.

39. DIY Concrete Vases

You can turn a small bag of concrete into several of these lovely vases and have enough left over for other projects, as well.

The vases can be molded in empty plastic bottles or if you prefer square vases, use half gallon cardboard milk or juice containers. Once they’re finished, these are perfect for housing your favorite plants on the porch or deck or you could create a nice raised effect for your flower garden.

40. Concrete And Wood Coffee Table

Yes, you can make your own coffee table with concrete and it’s much easier than you may think. You’ll need to measure carefully to ensure that your concrete top fits your base. Build the mold from wood – that you may just have left over after you create the coffee table base. Once it’s put together, this is a relatively heavy yet really sturdy coffee table that has a nice rustic look to it due to the wooden body and legs.
