Do you have a lot of old sweaters lying around in your drawers that you never wear? I certainly do. I tell myself repeatedly that I will wear them, but winter comes and goes and I never do. They take up a lot of space too. Why don’t I just take them to the thrift store? I don’t know. I suppose I could, but I’m attached to them for whatever sentimental reason. Or I like the color but they just don’t fit right anymore, etc.
I just found a great video that has solved my problem. Just as I have learned how to turn old sweaters into mittens, I can now turn old sweaters into beanies too!
This tutorial is awesome for several reasons. First of all, the finished beanies look just amazing, don’t they? Secondly, Andrea does a spectacular job explaining everything and demonstrating what to do. Thirdly, this is potentially a no-sew project. You certainly can sew if you want to, but if you don’t, you can just use glue. That means that it is an accessible project for anyone.
I already have several sweaters in mind for this project. I can’t wait to actually wear them again … on my head! This will be such a great way to keep my ears warm this winter. It also is going to make it super easy to make some awesome presents for the holidays. Since beanies are pretty much one-size-fits-all, they make great gifts. Check out the video and have fun!
