When David Hyche first found out that his four-month-old daughter was losing her vision, he didn’t know what to expect. He thought she could never have a normal life or participate in everyday activities. There were barriers everywhere. Being a parent is tough enough even when your child doesn’t have a disability. Throw blindness into the mix and it’s a much harder job.
And that includes on the holidays. Most kids look forward to hunting for eggs on Easter. But when you’re blind, you can’t look for the bright colors of the eggs.
Even at 18 months of age, David’s daughter never gave up trying to do things on her own, and that inspired him to never give up either. In this video, you’ll find out how he came up with the idea of creating beeping eggs for her to hunt for Easter.
What a cool dad! Best of all, his idea is now being used in churches across the country!
