Can I use This Paper Star on the Tree?
Yes! This beautiful gigantic paper bag star goes wonderfully on your Christmas tree. It's made with a small piece of ribbon, making it perfect for hanging off of your living room Christmas tree's branches! Make a few, and your tree will definitely stand out this year.
If you add the small ribbon loop, you can also hang it around the house with thumbtacks, nails, or from existing hardware. We recommend hanging them from walls or ceilings in patterns throughout the house to create a cozy winter wonderland! Adding handmade accents like these can bring some pride and joy to your decoration collection!
Is This Craft Difficult to Make?
Not at all, this is a beginner-friendly craft you'll have no problem with! If anything, a little experience with a glue gun will help you out a bit. Otherwise, you're looking at a fairly simple craft that doesn't take any special skills. You can make this craft in as little as 10 minutes or less, depending on how you want to personalize or decorate it!
It doesn't require any scissor cutting patterns that might take you out of your comfort zone, either! Despite how intricate this star looks, it's really only a couple of scissor cuts! Check out our instructions below for more information on how simple and easy this DIY decoration craft is! You can easily batch a few of these if you're making them display throughout your home!
Do I Need to Use a Hot Glue Gun?
Not necessarily, there are alternatives. Using a hot glue gun is the easiest way to adhere these paper bags together. That being said, you can use almost any other method you feel comfortable with. A basic home stapler would work nicely. Liquid bottle glue will work as well, although slower. We wouldn't recommend using glue-sticks, however. Since it may not provide enough adhesion to keep your lovely craft star from falling apart.

How to Make a Gigantic Paper Bag Star Decoration
After your hot glue gun is heated up and ready to go, you'll want to start by laying one paper bag flat. Apply glue from top to bottom on one side, in an upside-down 'T' shape.
Place another bag on top, and repeat this process 5 times. After they've had a few minutes to dry, take your scissors and cut the edges off of on side to form an arrow. For a precise example of how to make this cut, refer to the full video tutorial!
After that you'll cut one piece of ribbon to form the loop hanger.
Pinch the ribbon to form a loop, and glue it to the narrow end of the bag.
Lift the craft up, and fan out the bags to reveal a wonderful star pattern! For a bigger, or smaller star in the future you can increase, or decrease the number of paper bags you use!
At this point, you can add some glue to the side where the end of the paper bags meets. This will ensure your craft doesn't unravel when you put it on display!
