Turmeric's health benefits are numerous. It has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, strong antioxidant, fights depression, natural heart healer, brain function and memory improver. Also, studies have shown that one of the compounds in turmeric also may help prevent Alzheimer's disease.
Health benefits aside, it's also one of the prettiest spices around. I always keep a jar on hand to throw into rice dishes, chicken dishes – and now my breakfast smoothie.
Turmeric pairs amazingly with citrus, and this smoothie is perfect for when you're running out the door ready to face the day.

Is this good for a diabetic to drink? I notice there is much sugar in it. It has 1 cup of Orange juice (which I don't drink unless low on sugar) carrot, apple and an orange juiced. I am asking cuz I would like to reap the benefits but not comprise my Sugar intake.
